More about Lisa Mann
I believe in the promise of possibility, and am deeply grounded in the practical, measurable, and scalable. I love to find solutions that are concrete, tangible, and easily applicable for organizations to make work better and easier.
My work has centered on the crossroads of education and work, having helped college students transition from school to work for over 15 years from North Carolina to New York. I have served as the primary data person for two universities collecting critical labor market information on recent graduates, and sharing the impact of degrees earned. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wake Forest University, a Masters of Education in Counseling from The College of William & Mary, and am ABD on an educational doctorate from Western Carolina University. My doctoral studies focus on the ways that organizations can provide social and cultural capital for greater impact in internship programs, especially for first generation college students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
I was born in Asheville, NC and some of the mountains must have seeped into my being, as I moved back here in 2017 to live full-time and can’t imagine leaving. I love being in a place so connected to nature. It was
through my doctoral research here that I realized I wanted to spend the majority of my time consulting, researching, evaluating, and providing organizations with strategies to reach stronger outcomes for clients. Being a part of Context Matters is a dream come true, and I’m so excited to work with you.
